New resources to support sound data management practices when planning research projects are now available for the UBC research community.
A new Data Management Plan (DMP) pre-funding template, available through DMP Assistant, has been customized for the UBC research community to encourage best practices in research integrity and impact while also fulfilling grant application requirements. The template comprises six focused questions about research data management, including incorporating practices that make research Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (the FAIR Principles) and support research integrity. An update to the comprehensive DMP template is also available for researchers to complete once funding has been awarded.
The combined resources now available through DMP Assistant are designed encourage thoughtful data planning from the outset, while streamlining administrative tasks for researchers. Accompanying support guides are also available.
The templates were developed in support of the implementation of UBC’s inter-campus Research Data Management Strategy, in response to the Tri-Agency Policy on Research Data Management.
