DMPs are one of the foundations of good research data management, an international best practice, and are increasingly required by institutions and funders, including the Tri-Agencies as outlined in their Research Data Management Policy.
The DMP Assistant tool from Portage Network is freely available to all researchers to support them in developing a DMP through a series of key data management questions, supported by best-practice guidance and examples. DMP Assistant is available in both English and French. It allows you to create and export your DMP. Portage has created some excellent exemplars for numerous disciplines and UBC has a general template for use by UBC researchers.
