Data Management Plans (DMPs) are one of the foundations of good research data management, an international best practice, and are increasingly required by institutions and funders, including the Tri-Agencies as outlined in their Research Data Management Policy.
The DMP Assistant is a free, bilingual online tool supported by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada to help researchers develop comprehensive Data Management Plans (DMPs). It supports compliance with Tri-Agency requirements and institutional policies by guiding users through key data management topics such as data collection, documentation, storage, sharing, and preservation. The platform promotes best practices in research data stewardship and features UBC-specific templates and guidance.
